Richard was born on May 21, 1945 in Santa Monica, California. He began his career working in theatres until late 1960s and started working in television in 1970 starring as Philip Brent in soap opera “All My Children”. After then, he made numerous guest appearances in series like Cannon, Nakia, Barnaby Jones, Hawaii Five-O, The Waltons, The Hatfields and McCoys and Last of the Belles. In 1976, he landed his major television role as Inspector Dan Robbins on series “The Streets of San Francisco”, though he played the role for only one season he won Germany’s Bravo Youth Magazine award for that famous role. Following his success, he had a recurring role on the series “Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman”.
In 1980s he made the guest appearances the whole time in series like Hotel, Murder, She Wrote: The Love Boat and Fantasy Island, but his next prominent role came as Tom Zarek in remake version of “Battlestar Galactica” in which he made semi-regular appearances from 2004 to 2009. Though he spent most of his life playing in TV series, he has made several film releases including “Best Friends”, “Charlie Chan and the Curse of the Dragon Queen” and “Prisoners of the Lost Universe”. He has also maed numerous television commercials and performed a variety of voice-overs.
On February 7, 2017 Richard died from pancreatic cancer in Los Angeles at the age of 71. He will forever be remembered for his contribution on Television Industry.
